The production and packaging process at Ervas da Zoe is a mixture of manual and semi-mechanized.
In production, some plants are harvested with a machine, others are cut with scissors, one by one. The flowers are also hand-picked.
Packing follows the same process, some packed manually, others semi-automatically.
The choice of herbs, after drying, is always manual.
In tea herbs, plant selection with the aim of removing less-than-good looking leaves or plant parts is done manually somewhere along the way, after drying until they are packaged.
Some herbs used in tea in which only the leaf or flower is used, the process is entirely manual, thus allowing to obtain a high quality raw material, which only the human hand is capable of selecting.
The choice, selection of the leaf and the separation of stems in the case of spices is manual to allow only the leaf to be used.
