it is an edible fruit from some species of actinidia gender and their hybrids , originating in southern china. they are plants typical of places with temperate or subtropical mountain . fruit varieties are the most widely marketed produced by several varieties of actinidia deliciosa species and much lesser extent, of some varieties of actinidia chinensis . the fruit is greenish pulp and bark brown -green to yellowish-brown , covered with a kind of micropelos that give a fibrous and hirsute appearance. it is considered the most commercial fruit with vitamin c already identified except the acerola , and is particularly rich in certain trace elements such as magnesium, potassium and iron.
