Christmas Dreams (Chef Silva)
Ingredients:
300g flour
6 eggs
80g margarine
1 pinch of salt
1/2 liter of water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 orange peel
powdered sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle
Preparation:
Boil the water, salt, margarine, sugar and orange peel, in a saucepan. Remove the orange peel with a fork.
Add the flour all at once and stir well without removing from heat, until it becomes a soft dough.
Then remove from the heat, pour into a bowl, let it cool slightly and add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
Place the oil in a pot and warm it up. Fill up a spoon with the dough and fry it slowly in the oil, repeating this procedure until the dough is finished. Pierce the dough with a fork occasionally, until it triples the volume and become hard and golden brown.
Remove from the oil and drain them, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
