a vagem da fava é rasa, alongada e ligeiramente curvada, medindo em média (3 inches) de comprimento. no interior das vagens residem entre duas a quatro sementes rasas com forma de rim que são aquilo a que habitualmente nos referimos como favas. as sementes são geralmente de cor creme ou verde apesar de algumas variedades incluírem cores como o branco, vermelho, roxo, castanho ou preto. as favas têm um sabor semelhante ao da batata e uma textura granulada mas ligeiramente amanteigada. the pod of beans is shallow, slightly curved and elongated, measuring, on average (3 inches) in length. inside the pods reside between two to four shallow seed-shaped rim that is what we commonly refer to as beans. seeds are generally cream or green color although some varieties include colors such as white, red, purple, brown or black. the beans have a flavor similar to that of potato and a grainy texture but slightly buttery.
