Region Beira Interior – sub-region Castelo Rodrigo Grape Varieties Touriga Nacional (40%), Touriga Franca (40%) and Jaen (20%) Vine The vineyards, at an unparalleled altitude (700 – 750mts), bring together the characteristic grape varieties of this region and comprise three plots with their own characteristics: Alvandeira vineyards with Argilolimoso land; Souto vineyards are of transition of Granite and Schist; and in the Lameiras vineyards are made of Granite and Quartz. Organic production, its terroir steeped in history, as well as the surroundings of the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers, give a unique profile to the wines from this property. Winemaking Fresh grapes at their ideal maturation point, picked by hand in 20 kg boxes, are transported to the cellar where they are destemmed and slightly crushed. Pre-fermentative maceration for 10 days. Fermentation over 14 days in stainless steel and aging in French oak barrels for 32 months. Alcohol content 14.0% Total acidity 5.13 gr/l Volatile acidity 0.50 gr/l pH 3.87 Sugars 1.0 gr/l Total Dry Extract 29.4 gr/l Tasting notes A wine that impresses with its extraordinary freshness and complexity, with notes of wild berries, pine, resin, licorice, coffee and tobacco leaf.
