Region Beira Interior – sub-region Castelo Rodrigo Grape Varieties Touriga Nacional (60%), Touriga Franca (20%) and Tinta Roriz (20%) Vine The vineyards, at an unparalleled altitude (700 – 750mts), bring together the characteristic grape varieties of this region and comprise three plots with their own characteristics: Alvandeira vineyards with Argilolimoso land; Souto vineyards are of transition of Granite and Schist; and in the Lameiras vineyards they are Granite and Quartz. Organic production, its terroir steeped in history, as well as the surroundings of the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers, give a unique profile to the wines from this property. Winemaking Fresh grapes at their ideal point of maturation, picked by hand in 20 kg boxes, are transported to the cellar where they are subjected to careful manual selection, destemming and gentle crushing. Fermentation by variety, in stainless steel and half of the batch is aged in used French oak barrels for 8 months Alcohol content 13.5% Total acidity 6.15 gr/l Volatile acidity 0.46 gr/l pH 3.66 Sugars 3 gr/l Total Dry Extract 34 gr/l Tasting notes A wine rich in fresh aromas of red fruit and vegetable notes of resin, pine needles and rock rose, with a rich and dense flavor with freshness and sweet tannins.
